Our Management Team

  • Mark is the founder of Eigen Ventures, working with public sector bodies, industry, SMEs and entrepreneurs. He has led and delivered major UK innovation programmes, including BEIS Net Zero Innovation Portfolio Acceleration Services, UKRI Energy Catalyst Accelerator, and Energy Systems Catapult’s Energy Launchpad. Since 2006, he has supported over 400 cleantech SMEs. Mark co-founded FlexLondon for the GLA, helping major energy users connect with 100 flexibility innovators. Formerly Managing Partner of a consultancy he grew to £1.6m revenue, he has also been CEO of a University of Surrey spin-out and Investment Manager for a NZ VC fund investing NZ$35m in tech ventures.

  • Technology commercialisation specialist with 25+ years’ experience turning early-stage innovations into investable ventures or commercial opportunities. Has shaped and driven the commercialisation of 40+ innovations, creating five spin-outs and deals up to £18m. Formerly led commercialisation at Loughborough University, restructured the Energy Technology Institute’s commercial approach and negotiated over £12m of investment, and built a renewable energy venture within Philips. Currently leads Eigen’s Energy Catalyst Accelerator delivery, supporting 100+ cleantech SMEs.

  • Ross is Commercial Director of Eigen Ventures. He was previously Head of Ventures at the Carbon Trust and Principal for Smart Energy Europe at Frost & Sullivan. With over 17 years’ experience in strategy consulting and delivering large-scale innovation programmes, Ross advises technology start-ups, corporates, and governments on transformation and growth strategies, primarily in the energy sector. His programmes have supported around 400 climate tech SMEs globally to commercialise, scale, and maximise impact.

  • An experienced commercial manager specialising in the area of business development for early-stage technology. Michael led the commercial roll-out of a novel RUO medical technology in Europe and North America and launched an associated pharma services business. He has provided mentoring and commercial acceleration support to a wide range of low carbon technologies (including marine, heat and power, agri-tech, hydrogen). Michael has the ability to rapidly understand new technologies and markets, secure valuable commercial partnerships, negotiate and close out deals, and brings a versatile and hands-on approach to making things happen

  • Leadership and organisational development advisor with 18+ years’ experience supporting global investors, funds and high-growth enterprises. Founder of Liminal Advisors and Strategic Facilitator at GRID Impact. Designed talent and leadership programmes for major impact funds, including a $5BN UK Government PE impact fund and Acumen’s $100M fund. Advises clean-energy investors and VCs across Africa and South Asia, specialising in org design, culture, DEI and strategic leadership alignment.

Specialises in early-stage and scaling ventures across clean energy and impact sectors in Africa and South Asia.

  • Experienced consultant to low-carbon innovators, start-ups, and SMEs, working across UK, Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, drawing on experience with BOC, Johnson Matthey, and the Carbon Trust. Worked with partners including the UN, TATA, Energy Catalyst, and Cambridge Cleantech. Delivered SDG-aligned projects such as Rwanda’s sustainable housing diaspora bond and a €20m job-creation initiative in Ghana.

  • Renewable energy engineer with 30+ years’ experience spanning strategy to project delivery. Built and led Black & Veatch Europe’s low-carbon team for 15+ years before founding Baldock Energy. Has advised on hundreds of projects from kW-scale heat to GW-scale power. Projects include: funders’ technical adviser for MeyGen (world’s largest tidal stream project), adviser/assessor for ScotWind and INTOG offshore wind leasing rounds, and multiple innovation projects in hydrogen, offshore wind, and marine.

  • Clean-energy professional with 10+ years’ experience across consulting, venture support and commercial leadership. Led Bboxx’s Connect Division across 10 African markets, securing a major strategic partnership with Unilever and 10x sales growth. As heata’s Commercial Director, raised £2m+ equity, won multiple public-sector projects, and closed strategic partnerships with Octopus Energy, UK Government and British Gas.

  • Global Business Leader, NED, Organisational Psychologist and accredited Senior Executive Coach with over 30 years experience in organisational development and scaling energy and sustainability ventures across Asia and Africa. Former Deloitte Consultant, Global Director of $18 billion global company, Entrepreneur in Residence for a global development investor tasked with commercialising breakthrough sanitation technologies, and scale-up advisor to Innovate UK Energy Catalyst companies including the winner of US$1m Milken-Motsepe Prize and an Earthshot Prize finalist. Focused on sanitation, clean energy and e-mobility.

  • Project and programme specialist with 30 years’ experience accelerating sustainable energy technologies. Has delivered market analysis, technology roadmaps, and commercialisation support across heat, hydrogen, biofuels, smart metering and offshore wind. Developed the UK’s first independently operated low-pressure hydrogen pipeline and assessed deliverability for major NZIP competitions, including CCUS, RDR, IHA and HAR rounds.

  • 27 years investment and innovation experience across venture capital, start-ups, growth businesses and listed equities. Jonathan has personally managed investment of £25m with co-investment of £170m into 15 low carbon/clean tech companies. Founding Partner of 350IP LLP which invested approximately £60m into over 35 early-stage companies. Previously with Carbon Trust Investments, IP Group,  Coller Capital, and Flemings Investment Management.

  • Energy systems specialist with 30 years’ experience spanning network design, regulation, and commercial strategy. Rob has supported innovators across multiple accelerator programmes, advising on data-enabled services, micro-grids, storage, and smart energy integration and connections. Rob has contributed to the Energy Data Task Force (Ofgem), Flex London for the GLA, the NEPC Rapid Decarbonisation of the GB Electricity System report and sits on the IET Sustainability and Net Zero Policy Centre committee.

  • Consultant to clean-tech SMEs and investors for 20 years, specialising in technology commercialisation and early-stage finance.  Co-founder/CFO of several start-ups, raising multiple funding rounds.  Former UK Venture Partner at Factor[e] Ventures identifying and negotiating early-stage VC investments.  Early career comprised 10 years in industry (Rolls Royce, BP, QinetiQ) followed by 8 years in investment banking (Paribas, ABN AMRO).

  • Building energy efficiency specialist who has delivered multiple smart buildings and Net Zero programmes for clients including the Greater London Authority, Energy Systems Catapult, NG Bailey, GS8, Arla Dairy and commercial landlords. Brings 20+ years across energy efficiency, IoT and data-led building performance. Former Director/Head of Operations at ISS Technical Services, GSH Group and Carillion, leading major energy services and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Senior energy-sector leader with 40 years’ international experience across business development, finance, trading and project delivery at Deutsche Bank, BP, JERA and oil & gas companies in China. John now advises on energy transition: besides mentoring multiple cleantech innovators, John has led a hydrogen financing study for UKRI, advised DESNZ on Hydrogen Allocation Round applications and is advising a 1 GW floating offshore windfarm.

  • 27 years’ working with innovator-SMEs, university spin-outs and corporate venturing units. He has set-up and programme managed multiple business incubation services and has delivered incubation support to over 250 companies for Innovate UK, BEIS and Scottish Enterprise including helping raise investment for cleantech ventures. David’s early career included 10 years in quantitative analysis and product innovation in the banking sector in Paris, London and Japan.

  • Commercial leader and qualified solicitor with 10+ years in venture building, investment and operational leadership. Co-founded and scaled Enhabit to exit, later founding two additional businesses while sourcing and executing acquisitions for Ansor Ventures. Advises family offices on investment strategy and governance, drawing on prior corporate finance experience at Slaughter and May and HSBC.

  • Capital-raising specialist with 15 years advising early-stage companies across sectors including energy transition, circular economy and future of food. Founder of Fonte Capital, a sustainability-focused corporate finance advisory firm supporting clients who work in the energy transition, circular economy and future of food. Recent raises include £1.5m for Limetrack (2025), £3m for Reconome (2024), £3m for Sustainable Ventures (2023). Co-founder of Devonian Capital, where he led investments into six early-stage land-based aquaculture ventures.  NED to Floodline Developments and TruCelium.

  • Entrepreneur and commercial innovator with 18 years’ experience in cleantech, energy systems and early-stage growth. Co-founded and led Powervault for 10 years, securing £16m investment and £2m grants while scaling it into an award-winning UK energy-storage SME. Previously at Open Energi, helped commercialise smart-grid technologies with National Grid. Advises startups and serves as a non-executive director.

  • Digital cleantech specialist with 20 years’ experience in energy innovation and international policy. Founder of Energy Unlocked, supporting startups on market entry and commercial strategy. Former Head of Smart Technologies at The Climate Group, working with Cisco, Google, BT, Arup and Intel, and co-author of landmark reports SMART 2020 (together with McKinsey) and Information Marketplaces: the new economy of cities.
