Eigen works with Innovator-SMEs, the Public and Impact sectors, Corporates and Universities to help bring sustainable and low-carbon innovations to market.

Our work looks to support the UK on its journey to net zero and drive corporate competitiveness and economic growth by building on world-leading innovation from UK SMEs and Universities.

Eigen has designed and delivered some of the UK’s largest climate tech accelerator programmes, and provided innovation commercialisation support to more than 400 SMEs. Our team of Associates bring real-world experience in commercialising and scaling climate tech innovation across a wide range of end sectors.

Our team consists of senior practitioners each with a minimum of 20+ years of hands-on experience as founders, investors or corporate executives who have “been there - done that” in innovation commercialisation, investment and adoption. Carbon Trust Entrepreneurs Fast Track programme
Supporting commercialisation and scale up of 45 climate-tech ventures who went on to raise in excess of £40m in private funding

DECC/BEIS Energy Entrepreneurs Fund (EEF) Incubation Programme/
ERDF Cleantech Programme South-East
Development of SME Diagnostic and programme tools. Provision of SME reviews and business support for programmes and investor groups.
Stakeholders in Local Area Energy Planning (Energy Systems Catapult)
Engaged with government, public and private sector stakeholders to assess upcoming needs for local area energy planning tools.
2018

FlexLondon Programme (GLA Mayors office)
Engaged 25 corporates and 100 energy innovators to identify opportunities to ‘flex’ when energy was used or generated and manage demand on the grid.
Landscaping Study (ES Catapult)
Characterised 50+ incubator and accelerator programmes supporting energy innovators followed by assessment of different support models.
2019

Energy System Catapult Energy Launchpad
Co-design and delivery of programme pilot for the first UK accelerator specifically for energy innovations
Landscaping Study (ES Catapult/ Climate KIC)
Characterisation of 150+ business support programmes for Energy Innovators (Energy, Housing, Transport, Industry) identifying coverage/ gaps.
2020

Energy Catalyst Accelerator Programme (Innovate UK) - Ongoing
Co-design, set-up and delivery of the programme to address energy access in Africa, Asia and Indo Pacific though business support to over 200 sustainable energy-access innovation projects
2021-2025

Net Zero Innovation Portfolio Accelerator (DESNZ)
Lead partner in the design, set-up and delivery of the UK's largest single low carbon accelerator programme to date. The programme supported 175 SMEs and 8 Universities with expert mentoring, 400+ bespoke support tasks and comprehensive range of webinars and workshops

Analysis for Cross-Catapult study of business & academic clusters

Working with ES Catapult, developed a framework for tracking net-zero transition journey of SMEs
2024

H2 Project Funding Study (ES Catapult/ HII)
Extensive market survey to explore challenges and potential solutions for accessing limited recourse debt to finance 'First-of-a-Kind' H2 Projects in the UK.
H2 End-to-End Study (ES Catapult/HII)
Survey, interviews and workshops to identify primary challenges and barriers faced by hydrogen innovators nearing commercialisation. Drove partnerships and collaboration between engaged SMEs.
2025

Commonwealth Investor Network (FCDO)
Co-Design and set-up’ plan for the programme to address low levels of investment into small and vulnerable states for climate resilient economic development projects.
Market Forming Initiatives Study (Innovate UK)
Working in consortium with ERM on scoping and concept design of market interventions in the UK automotive, built environment and chemicals sectors to drive circularity and resource efficiency.
